Laurietz Seda-Ramirez, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of
Spanish, specializing in Latin American literature of the
20th century with an emphasis on Latin American theatre. After
receiving her doctorate at the University of Kansas in 1995,
Dr. Seda has taught at three different Universities until
coming to work at UConn in 1999.
Course Offerings
SPAN 278 - Intermediate Spanish Composition
- Either semester. Three credits. Prerequisite: SPAN 184
or three or more years of Spanish in high school.
- This course provides a thorough review of grammar and
methodical practice in composition leading to command of
practical idioms and vocabulary.
SPAN 279 - Spanish Conversation: Cultural Topics
- Either semester. Three credits. Recommended preparation:
SPAN 278 or consent of instructor.
- In-depth development of speaking skills through cultural
readings, group discussions and oral presentations on selected
topics concerning the Spanish-speaking world.
