Franco Masciandaro, Ph.D. is a professor of Italian, and the head of the Italian department at the University of Connecticut. Specializing in medieval and Renaissance literature, Dr. Masciandaro received his doctorate in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University in 1971. Dr. Masciandaro has been teaching at UConn since 1989.

Course Offerings


ITAL 239 - Italian Composition and Conversation I

  • Fall semester. Three credits. Prerequisite: ITAL 148 or equivalent.
  • Practice in written and oral composition. Syntax study.

ITAL 240 - Italian Composition and Conversation II

  • Spring semester. Three credits. Prerequisite: ITAL 239 or equivalent.
  • Further practice in written and oral composition. Treatment in the finer points of syntax.
